Why we built NextStep Summer

Kids lose real ground over summer break — studies consistently show measurable learning loss between the school years, especially in math. The usual fixes are expensive: summer camps and tutoring can run hundreds of dollars a week, and generic worksheet packets feel like more homework, not less.

We wanted something in between: a low-effort daily habit that actually keeps a rising 1st–4th grader sharp, without turning summer into a second school year. That's why NextStep Summer is built around short, game-like daily missions — about 15 minutes — across Math, Reading, and Social Studies, all banded to the grade a child is entering in the fall.

We're a small team, and we're building this in the open — content and features are still growing, and we'd genuinely like to hear what's working and what isn't for your family.
