How much does NextStep Summer cost?

$12.99 per month, or $29.99 for 3 months (about $10/month, roughly 23% less than paying monthly). You can cancel anytime from the "Manage billing & subscription" link in the app.

What grades is this for?

Rising 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders — meaning kids who just finished Kindergarten through 3rd grade and are heading into the next grade in the fall.

What subjects are covered?

Math, Reading, and Social Studies, each as its own "Island" with 8 stops. There are also 6 standalone math games and 48 illustrated storybooks (12 per grade).

How much time does my child need each day?

About 15 minutes. Each day's mission is one short Island stop or a quick math game — built to fit into a summer day, not take it over.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancelling stops future billing, and access continues through the end of the period you already paid for. There's no long-term contract.

Do you offer refunds?

Payments are non-refundable except where required by law, including for partial periods or unused time after cancellation. See our Terms of Service for details.

Is my child's information safe?

Accounts are created and managed by parents, not children. We don't show ads to kids, don't sell data, and don't let children chat with anyone outside their own family. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.

Does NextStep Summer work in Spanish?

The app's navigation and all Math, Reading, and Social Studies questions are available in Spanish — just select it during setup. The 48 storybooks and Fact World trivia content are currently English-only.

What if my child is between grade levels?

During setup, you'll pick the grade your child is entering in the fall, and all content is banded to that grade. You can change this anytime from the Parent Zone if it's not quite the right fit.

Can I add more than one child?

Right now, each account supports one child profile. If you have more than one child, you'll need a separate account (and subscription) for each — we're aware this isn't ideal for larger families and may revisit it.

What devices does it work on?

NextStep Summer runs in your web browser — no app download needed. It works on phones, tablets, and computers.
